What separates a practising architect from a «Vastu consultant from the internet»

Six points that shift
the level of the conversation

01

State diploma in architecture

Prydniprovska State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture (PGASA), 2008. Not an «author's workshop» or a «two-week certificate from India». Full architectural education with structures, codes, construction.

02

Five shastras in the original

Manasara, Mayamatam, Vastu-shastra, Brihat-samhita, Samarangana-sutradhara. In Sanskrit, not through retellings of retellings.

03

Studied with Indian masters

Courses with traditional masters in India. Knowledge transmitted hand-to-hand, not by online certification.

04

Own vastu house since 2021

Hurivka, Mykolaiv. 120 m². Sazhens G-B-D. Living with the family. Every decision tested in his own life.

05

Synthesis of three independent schools

Vastu Vidya + Vitruvius and Palladio + Russian sazhens. Three civilisations checking the same decision from different angles.

06

30 years of daily meditation

Not esoterics — sustained attention. An architect needs to hold the whole system in mind for 4–8 weeks at a stretch.

The path

How the architect
came to Vastu

2000s

Architectural education & state diploma

Full training as an architect — drawings, structures, calculations, building codes, materials, construction. The base most «Vastu consultants» don't have. The reason it's possible to speak with engineers and contractors in their own language.

2005

Opening the architectural practice

Beginning of independent practice. Already at that point I noticed that ordinary architecture had «forgotten about the human being.» I started reading the old treatises — first the Russian sazhens of Chernyaev and Piletsky, then Vitruvius, then the Sanskrit shastras.

2010+

Study in India and first Vastu projects

Courses with Indian masters of tradition, directly. Reading the original shastras in Sanskrit. The first client projects in Ukraine — Chervonenko, Kedrovka, Oleg-Krishnait. Every project — testing theory on a live construction site.

2016–2021

Own vastu house in Ukraine

Five years of work on my own project in Hurivka. 120 m², designed on the Russian sazhens of G-B-D, Vastu orientation, natural materials. Moved in with the family in 2021. Five years there now — and the house feels better than on the day we moved in.

2026 →

Vedic Architecture studio

15+ realised and designed objects. Private-house concepts, residential developments, public buildings. Working online with clients across Eastern Europe and the EU.

Philosophy of practice

A home is
the longest investment of a lifetime

«Modern architecture has nearly forgotten about the human being. The house has become a box for objects, an investment object, a status symbol. Yet master builders — in the East, in Rome, in the Italy of the Renaissance, and in Rus — all knew a simple thing: the home must be cut to the human, not the human to the home.»

So my work isn't to «draw a beautiful house», but to design a space that will work for you and your family every day, for 30+ years.

Personal

Things worth knowing
before we begin

I don't take every client

A concept is deep work for 4–8 weeks. I take at most 6–8 projects a year so I can give each one real attention. If we don't align on values, I'll say so directly on the 30-minute call.

I don't make «magical» promises

I won't tell you a Vastu house will «heal you of disease». I will say there are peer-reviewed studies (Lipman 2022, Travis 2004) showing significant improvements in sleep and mental health in correctly oriented buildings. Biology, not magic.

I work remotely

By principle. It lets me take clients in any country and keep fees reasonable. The build happens on your land; I coordinate by video with your contractor and a local architect.

My native language is Russian

English is workable for most project work and written deliverables. For complex discussions of meaning and intent, an interpreter can join the call — or we can use written async exchanges where I take more time to be precise.
