Public buildings: temples, retreat centers, spaces of practice.

A public building is more demanding than a private home: it serves dozens, hundreds, sometimes thousands of people. The Vastu canon was designed exactly for this scale — Indian temples have been working under it for millennia. I design retreat centers, ashrams, yoga studios, meditation halls, schools, and settlement infrastructure.

Types of public objects I work with

Temples and prayer halls

Vastu canon written specifically for temples — vimana, garbha-griha, mandapa, prakara. I work with traditional layouts in modern engineering.

Retreat centers & ashrams

Quiet zones, accommodation, dining hall, meditation hall — all proportioned by Vastu, oriented to support practice. Includes settlement masterplanning when needed.

Yoga studios and meditation halls

Acoustic design for chanting and silence. Floor proportioned by golden ratio. Natural ventilation through the center. Light from the east.

Schools and educational spaces

Vastu compatibility for classrooms — east-facing teaching, quiet zones, natural light. Children develop differently in such spaces.

Wellness clinics & ayurveda centers

Specific Vastu requirements for treatment rooms, panchakarma, consultation spaces. Aligns with WELL and biophilic design certification.

Settlement infrastructure

Public squares, paths, water features, common buildings within a residential development. Often paired with the master-plan service.

Pricing & timing

from €10,000 · 4% of construction
